Pest Control - A Year Around Battle

No matter what the season, bugs and other pests never seem to leave us alone. Sunny days bring on buggy nights and overcast stormy days move the critters inside and make us want to reach for the first pest control device we can lay our hands on.

But we need to take care. Some of those bugs may actually be helpful little pests and for others we might actually end up harming ourselves in our all out war on pests.

Many household pests are more than annoying, they are harmful and destructive to our homes, pets and persons. But grabbing any old pest repellent is not the thing to do. Many chemical pesticides have effects that are worse than the pest they get rid of. Some are just irritating to smell and some can cause damage to our skin and even internal organs.

So what is the answer? There are several safe pest control alternatives that not only get rid of pests but that are also eco friendly.

A bug blocker is one alternative to using potentially dangerous chemicals. They are growing in popularity with among people who concerned about health hazard of chemical pesticides. Bug blockers come in various types used for different purposes.

A window shield is one type of bug blocker. It keeps the bugs out but has openings that let air in through the window it is installed on.

A similar and more traditional type of bug blocker is the good old wire or fabric mesh screen. Screens are required in all new homes and are easy to replace and install if the become damaged or missing.

But doors and windows need to be opened sometimes and there are many small cracks and crevices that small pests use to enter our homes and which are difficult to block effectively.
